7 de December de 2021Visa is the document provided by Brazilian consulate – once all conditions to obtain it are fulfilled – to foreigners that want to enter Brazilian territory. There are multiple types of Visa that are required in Brazil. It will be demonstrated how to obtain a travel, professional visa or a residence permit.
1. TRAVEL VISA
a) Who needs a visa to come to Brazil?
Brazil adopts a policy of reciprocity regarding visas. This means that countries that require visas for Brazilian citizens need visa to travel to Brazil. b) How to apply for a travel visaVISA?
Foreigners must contact one of the Brazilian Representations abroad in order to obtain their visa. It is not possible to obtain a visa on national territory. c) How long can you stay in Brazil and what is the expiration date?
With a travel visa you may stay up to 90 days in Brazil. Such time period may be extended for the same amount of days. The visa expires after 5 years. You may enter up to 180 days per year until the expiry date.
2. PROFESSIONAL VISA
a) Who is it for?
The Professional or work visa is the one required for foreigners who will work in companies, with or without employment relationships in Brazil.
b) Who must request it?
The Company responsible for the entry of the foreigner worker must request to the Brazilian Ministry of Labor the authorization.
c) What is the expiry date?
The visa expires in 2 years. It may be extended for equal amount of time and then transformed in a permanent visa.
3. PERMANENT VISA
The permanent visa has immigration purposes. It must be requested to a competent Brazilian consular representation in the one that is requiring the visa’s original country.
WHAT ARE THE HIPOTESYS OF OBTAINING A PERMANENT VISA?
a) To be a child of Brazilian parent
The needed documentation is:

Copy of the birth certificate of the Brazilian child;

Declaration that the offspring live under the economic protection and dependence of the person concerned;
b) To marry a Brazilian or a foreigner that is resident in Brazil
The documents required are:

c) To have Stable union with Brazilian or foreigner resident in the country

Proof of livelihood and financial ability of the caller to sustain the call;

Declaration, under the penalties of the law, of the civil status of the calling in the country of origin;

Authenticated copy of the identity document of the caller (Brazilian identity card or alien identity card);

Declaration of commitment to maintain, subsistence and exit the national territory, in favor of the interested party, with a firm recognized in a notary or consular post of career;
d) To be part of the family of a foreigner that is registered as permanent in Brazil; The documents required are:
